This shirt is made from deadstock wool intended for men's suiting. The fabric belonged to a batch imported from the UK and Italy by a New York tailor who closed his shop in the 1970s. They had been sitting in his storage unit until we purchased them sixty years later.
The antique pearl buttons on this piece are from a now-defunct factory in Iowa which was once the largest pearl-button producer worldwide.
